Big Horn Boulevard & Bilby Road

Project Description

The New Growth Area (NGA) Infrastructure Project in Elk Grove was a strategic initiative aimed at fostering development and enhancing connectivity within the city. A pivotal component of this project was the extension of Big Horn Boulevard from the Los Rios Community College, just south of Whitelock Parkway, extending southward to Bilby Road. Concurrently, Bilby Road was extended from Bruceville Road eastward to just beyond the newly extended Big Horn Boulevard.

The construction encompassed approximately 1.7 miles of new roadway, featuring two central lanes with 6-foot shoulders and an un-landscaped raised median. Comprehensive utility infrastructure was integrated, including sewer, water, and joint utility trenches, to support both current and future residents and businesses within the New Growth Area.

This project not only improved roadway infrastructure but also ensured the provision of essential utilities, thereby enhancing the overall quality of life and economic vitality within Elk Grove's New Growth Area.
