Roseville Parkway Extension
Project Description
The Roseville Parkway Extension Project was a key infrastructure improvement designed to enhance connectivity between Washington Boulevard and Foothills Boulevard. The project involved the construction of a new bridge and roadway spanning approximately 0.75 miles, featuring two travel lanes in each direction, a landscaped center median, Class II bike lanes, curb and gutter, curb ramps, a comprehensive drainage system, a sidewalk on the north side, and a multi-use trail on the south side.
A critical component of the project was the construction of a bridge over Industrial Avenue and the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) tracks, providing improved mobility for residents, businesses, and visitors while enhancing regional traffic flow.
Knight CM Group (KCM) provided resident engineering, construction inspection, material testing, and environmental monitoring services, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and City of Roseville standards. Given the project’s proximity to active railroad operations, UPRR coordination was a critical element. KCM's team managed all aspects of railroad coordination, including documentation, inspection, flagging, scheduling, and ensuring that construction activities minimized impacts to railroad operations. Additionally, detailed engineering plans, including Erection Plans and Temporary Works drawings affecting railroad property, were reviewed for adequacy and protection of railroad infrastructure prior to submission to UPRR.
The Roseville Parkway Extension Project significantly improved transportation efficiency and accessibility within the City of Roseville, supporting long-term regional growth and mobility objectives.
