Office Engineer

Knight CM Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Office Engineer to join our growing team and support the delivery of transportation and public infrastructure projects throughout California.

As an Office Engineer, you will support Resident Engineers, Project Managers, and field staff with the day-to-day administration of construction projects. You will help maintain project documentation, process submittals and RFIs, track costs and quantities, review progress payments, and coordinate with contractors, designers, public agencies, and other project stakeholders.

KCM is looking for organized, proactive professionals who communicate effectively, manage multiple priorities, and take pride in maintaining accurate and complete project records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Resident Engineers, Project Managers, and field teams.
- Process and track RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Maintain organized project records and contract documentation.
- Track project schedules, costs, quantities, and progress.
- Assist with monthly progress payments and cost forecasting.
- Prepare progress reports, meeting agendas, and minutes.
- Review documents for compliance with contract requirements.
- Coordinate with contractors, designers, agencies, and stakeholders.
- Support resolution of design and construction issues.
- Review daily reports and assist with basic labor compliance.
- Assist with as-builts, final records, and project closeout.
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of construction management or civil engineering experience; internship experience considered.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- EIT certification preferred, but not required.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.Understanding of construction methods and contract documents.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, Primavera, or similar software preferred.
- Familiarity with Caltrans specifications and procedures preferred.Valid driver's license.
