CP 2-3, SR 43 Tied Arch Bridge

The SR 43 Tied Arch Bridge is a 249-foot-long, 52-foot-wide structure designed to carry California high-speed trains over State Route 43 in Fresno County. The highly specialized bridge incorporates precast concrete floor beams and girders, steel hangers, tie girders, and arch ribs to create a distinctive tied-arch structural system capable of supporting future high-speed rail operations. Construction included the placement of 28 precast concrete girders over SR 43 and extensive structural coordination to safely complete work above an active state highway. Knight CM Group supported the delivery of this complex structure as part of the California High-Speed Rail program.
